Primary Grades K-2nd

Using a thematic approach, our primary teachers begin to teach basic skills in order to build a foundational knowledge base for our students.  Themes help our youngest learners to see the interconnectedness of their learning.  Our teachers provide direct instruction in phonemic awareness, phonics, reading strategies, spelling, and writing using a structured, systematic approach in order to lay a strong base for the language arts subjects. Number sense is stressed in the primary grades so that our students begin to form an intuitive understanding of numbers and their relationships.  Additionally, basic study skills and time management skills are taught to foster a sense of personal responsibility within our students.
