Meet Ramon Villacura

Principal, St. Joseph Catholic School

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me.

My journey in education began in Chile and led me to the United States, where I am pursuing my passion for transforming young lives through education. After a successful decade in banking and business, I followed my calling to become an educator, a Catholic educator, driven by the profound impact I could have on students' futures.

My educational experience spans multiple levels and disciplines. As a high school teacher, I immersed myself in youth development initiatives, particularly curriculum and instruction. I've led comprehensive curriculum reviews and designed projects across elementary, middle, and high school levels, including contributing to North Carolina's statewide world language curriculum.

As an International Baccalaureate educator, I hold certifications in Language B, Ab Initio, and Language A for the Diploma Program. My administrative leadership includes IB certifications in both Primary Years and Middle Years Programs. These experiences have deepened my understanding of educational best practices and teacher development. I've had the privilege of leading curriculum and instruction conferences at local, district, and state levels to support teacher growth.

However, my role as a Catholic educator extends beyond academic excellence. I've dedicated myself to viewing education as a means of nurturing spiritual development, following our Lord's path. My academic credentials include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Education
  • Master of Business Administration
  • Master's in Educational Leadership
  • Specialized certifications from Catholic institutions, including the University of Notre Dame and Villanova University

Throughout my career, I've developed strong relationships across organizations and communities, learning to connect meaningfully with stakeholders. As a man of faith deeply committed to Catholic education's vital role in today's world, I lead with a mission-driven approach.

I firmly believe in the potential of our communities and the unlimited possibilities for our children through Catholic education. I invite you to read my educational philosophy statement to learn more about my vision for faith-driven education.
